UF 2ND WORKSHOP ON PREVENTION OF SCHOOL DROPOUT
UF recently formulated a platform on which awareness workshops are been conducted in secondary schools, titled: Stay in school, My Education, My Future a considered necessary intervention that serves to encourage and stimulate students towards effort to stay in school and not to dropout until graduation.

On the above rationale, UF formulated the above mentioned program on the below stipulated objectives:

i. to encourage the most at risk student not to dropout
ii. to identify early which students are risk of dropping out and

iii. to support most at risk students to remain in school until graduation.

ICTS & SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATION IN TANJI

There is a need to help the dropout youths. UF in collaboration with CI is providing ICTs & Sexual Health Education in Tanji. Project designed to train both school going dropout youths on ICTs and Sexual Health Education.

The objective of this program is to provide life skill education for the school dropout youths.
You have the power and could assist reach more youths in the rural setting.

MY EDUCATION, MY FUTURE & CONTINUITY IN EDUCATION

There is no denying that student dropout rates are one of the major social and economic problems in Sub-Sahara Africa. Too many students leave high school without graduating. This is costly not only for the individual, but also for the entire society.

It’s evident that most students lacked the needed educational support and mentoring, therefor are at high risk of dropping out and once that happens, it’s culminated into the increasing levels of poverty in the society. Based on analysis of the current situation of dropout rate in Sub-Sahara Africa.

About 30 million children out of 58 million globally who are school dropouts live in sub-Saharan Africa and the rate are increasing.
Many countries in Sub-Saharan Africa are witnessing high rate of secondary school dropout. This situation is a threat to social and economic development of any country.

In most African countries, there is the challenge of no major opportunities for youth to engage in education until graduation especially in secondary schools. According to PressTV report, Sub-Saharan Africa is home to 21 million adolescents who don’t go to school.

Understanding the roles education plays in relation to economic, social development of individuals and society at large, including a better way of taking care of ourselves, and consequently creating a better society to live in. The prevention of secondary school dropout and promotion of further studies thereafter are important.
